There are more than just The Hockey Song???

While reading through tweets about hockey the other day I discovered a tweet that someone wrote. The tweet read as follows:

"There's only one song about hockey and that is The Hockey Song"

I had to fight the urge to reply. Granted, Stompin' Tom Connors' "The Hockey Song" is the most noticeable of all the hockey songs but there are so many more. This set me on a mission to: SPREAD THE WORD ON SONGS ABOUT HOCKEY. Granted it's not curing cancer, helping those less fortunate, or feeding the hungry BUT a mission none-the-less.

It's Neil Peart of the band Rush performing the Hockey Night in Canada theme song. Way awesome.

Below are some of the songs about hockey:

The Hockey Song- Jughead

Fifty Mission Cup- The Tragically Hip

The Zamboni Song- Gear Daddies

Hockey- Jane Siberry

Hockey Night in Canada- The Shuffle Demons

Gordie and My Old Man- Grievous Angels

The Ballad of Wendel Clark Part 1&2- Rheostatics

The Lonely End of the Rink- The Tragically Hip

Hit Somebody! (The Hockey Song)- Warren Zevon

Firework- The Tragically Hip

Big League- Tom Cochrane & Red Rider

Scoring- Guy Lefleur

Hockey Hair- Pansy Division

Hockey Monkey- The Zambonis

I Wanna Drive The Zamboni- The Zambonis

Time to Go- Dropkick Murphys

In French:

Dale Hawerchuck- Les Dale Hawerchuck

Go Habs Go- Vilain Pingouin

Passe Moi La Puck- Les Colocs

In Swedish:

Den Glider In- Nick Borgen

Now these aren't ALL the songs about hockey by no means.

I've also been told that everyone should check out the band "Two Man Advantage". They are a hockey themed punk rock group out of Long Island, New York. I've heard that their shows are very wild. They apparently dress up and put on a "Mock hockey game" on-stage. Most of their songs are very fast and are almost always about either hockey or beer. (Hockey? Beer? Sounds like my kind of band!)

So as popular as The Hockey Song is; There are more hockey songs to be enjoyed.
