Hockey Tweets: Imagine That

For those of you who are genitally addicted to twitter as I am but want to follow people who have more to say (especially about hockey) instead of the Spencers of the world I've compiled a list of NHL twitters.

NHL Team Twitters

More and more NHL hockey players have joined up to twitter. Jordan Tootoo and Dan Ellis of the Nashville Predators make fun of each other via twitter. If you aren't a Tootoo or Ellis fan, their twitters are funny just to see the insults they throw at each other. The New York Rangers crew is well represented with Sean Avery, Aaron Voros, and Marian Gaborik all tweeting. For those who speak french Michael Cammalleri tweets in both english and french. Joffrey Lupul, Scottie Upshall, Steve Sullivan, Martin Havlat, David Perron, Mike Green, and Mike Commodore all get in on the action. And if you're into reading blogs Andreas Lilja blogs for the Detroit Red Wings website.

The NHL has it's own official twitter as well does Gary Bettman. The Vice President of Hockey and Business Development Brendan Shanahan also has a twitter. But I wouldn't be looking for NHL official business on Shanny's twitter, his tweets are entertaining but rarely serious. Former players Darren Pang and Matt Barnaby tweet mostly for their new careers on the other side of the hockey camera as commentators and analysts.

If you're into up to date hockey news I suggest following the Hockey Night In Canada crew. Scott Morrison, Jeff Marek, Elliotte Friedman, and Hockey Night itself are all amongst the twitterverse. Jeff Marek has one of the most entertaining as well as informational twitters as far as hockey goes. I personally tweet at Jeff way too much for my own good but it's all in good fun. Now if only Don Cherry or Mickey Redmond had twitters. Imagine that.
I tweet, They tweet, We all tweet about hockey. Well... not all tweets are about hockey but hey it's fun.
